Share the Light Project offers free Christmas lights and meals to families in need
Eastern NC lighting company Let There Be Light helps brighten holidays for families through nominations.
A Christmas lighting company based in Jacksonville, North Carolina, is helping families in Eastern North Carolina experience holiday cheer through its Share the Light Project, WITN reported.
Let There Be Light has been decorating homes in the region for 16 years. Six years ago, the owner, Travis Plymell, started the Share the Light Project to support families facing difficult times during the holiday season.
Community members can nominate families who may need extra holiday support. Selected families receive free Christmas lighting on their homes and a full Thanksgiving meal from Smoky Tony’s BBQ.
Nominations are open until November 20, and families from across Eastern North Carolina are eligible, including those in the Elizabeth City area and surrounding counties.
Plymell discussed the project on ENC at Three, highlighting the community effort to bring joy during the holidays.
