Jalen Williams of the Oklahoma City Thunder suffered a fractured fibula and a dislocated ankle during a game against the Los Angeles Clippers, the team announced, according to Yahoo Sports.

Williams was injured late in the game on a drive and had to be stretchered off the court. The injury occurred after a foul on a dunk attempt, and the game was paused for about five minutes.

Thunder general manager Sam Presti said Williams will require surgery and that a recovery timeline will be provided after the procedure. Presti described Williams as "an elite competitor" and noted he is in good spirits.

In the same game, teammate Cason Wallace sustained a left labral tear and will also need surgery. Wallace's injury happened earlier in the game after running into an illegal screen and did not return.

Williams has been a key player for the Thunder, averaging 17.9 points over five seasons and contributing to the team's 2025 NBA title. However, he missed significant time last season due to various injuries.

The Thunder won the game 108-101 against the Clippers despite the injuries, but Williams is expected to miss most or all of the 2026-27 season due to the severity of his injury.
