Washington DC exorcist removed after viral UFO video, Denver priest to pause media
Monsignor Stephen Rossetti was removed as DC exorcist after viral video; Denver's Rev. Ripperger to pause public media work for a year.
The Archdiocese of Washington DC removed Monsignor Stephen Rossetti from his role as exorcist after he posted a viral video suggesting many UFO sightings are demonic manifestations, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Rossetti served as the exorcist for the Washington DC Archdiocese for 19 years before his removal, which followed the widely viewed video expressing his personal beliefs.
Meanwhile, in Denver, the Rev. Chad Ripperger, a prominent Catholic exorcist known for millions of social media views, agreed to take a one-year break from public speaking and interviews after meeting with Denver Archbishop James Golka.
The Denver Archdiocese announced that Ripperger will devote this time to the religious community he founded, the Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother, and its service work. The archbishop and Ripperger plan to revisit the arrangement after the year.
Ripperger has gained attention for statements such as calling aliens 'just demons' and questioning evolution, appearing on platforms like The Tucker Carlson Show and the Shawn Ryan Show, where his interview garnered about 2.8 million views.
