The Maryland Attorney General’s Office released police body-worn camera footage capturing the aftermath of a fatal crash following a police pursuit near the Howard and Anne Arundel county line on September 6, The Baltimore Banner reported.

The pursuit began around 2:15 a.m. at a Royal Farms in Jessup when the driver of a 2018 Infiniti Q60 backed into a Howard County police cruiser, initiating the chase. The Infiniti eventually crashed into a retaining wall about a mile away, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old Baltimore man at the scene. Two other occupants were hospitalized in stable condition.

Bodycam footage from Howard County police officer PFC Amir Parker, who pursued the vehicle, shows all three occupants lying on the road after the crash. Parker interacts with the injured, asking about their condition and who was driving, and reports over radio the status of the occupants, noting two were unresponsive.

The crash occurred on a quiet residential street with single-family homes and small businesses. A local Jessup resident told CBS News Baltimore that the Infiniti narrowly missed utility poles and struck a traffic sign and mailboxes. Another Howard County resident commented on unsafe driving behaviors in the area, highlighting concerns about reckless driving.

The footage and details provide insight into the events leading to the fatal crash and ongoing concerns about road safety in the Howard County area.
