About 40 students at the College of Charleston are participating in a political science course called Democracy in Action, WCBD reported. The course offers students a direct look at how elections operate by combining classroom lessons with real-world civic engagement.

Throughout the semester, students have been learning about the electoral process in partnership with local election officials, giving them practical experience related to voting and elections.

According to wtma.com, the students are also training to work at polling places on Election Day, further enhancing their understanding of election operations and voter engagement.

This program provides Charleston-area students with valuable knowledge and skills that could benefit their future civic participation and careers in political science or public service.
