David Bruckner to direct Smile 3 with Parker Finn as producer
David Bruckner will direct the third Smile film, with creator Parker Finn producing and Nick Antosca writing the script.
Paramount has announced that David Bruckner will direct Smile 3, the next installment in the Smile horror franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Parker Finn, who created, wrote, and directed the first two Smile films, developed and pitched the framework for Smile 3 and will continue his involvement as a producer, Variety reported.
Nick Antosca has been hired to write the screenplay for Smile 3, as noted by both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.
David Bruckner is known for directing the 2022 Hellraiser reboot, The Night House, and The Ritual. He is also attached to several other projects including a remake of The Blob and Universal’s adaptation of The Caretaker, Variety detailed.
Each Smile film has been a standalone story with different lead characters, so it remains unclear who will star in Smile 3, Variety reported.
Parker Finn is currently directing a Possession remake set for release in 2027 and has a first-look deal with Paramount, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
