The family of Dominique Greene, a young mother killed in a hit-and-run crash in Fort Lauderdale, is actively seeking witnesses to help identify the driver responsible for her death, CBS News Miami reported. Greene was struck while crossing the westbound lanes of West Sunrise Boulevard on the evening of October 21, according to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

The vehicle involved is described as a newer-model black Mercedes-Benz AMG Performance coupe, likely manufactured between 2021 and 2023, with damage to the front grille and right headlight, and possibly the passenger-side window, CBS News Miami added. The driver did not stop after the collision and fled the scene.

Dominique Greene was transported to Broward Health Medical Center by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue but later died from her injuries, CBS News Miami said. Her family returned to the crash site to distribute flyers and appeal to the public for information.

Greene's family has also called for improved safety measures near the crash site, highlighting the lack of surveillance cameras in an area where children cross the road to attend school, CBS News Miami reported. Surveillance footage captured a blurry image of the vehicle, but the driver has not yet been identified.

Fort Lauderdale police continue to investigate the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward, WPLG Local 10 noted. The family hopes that public assistance will help bring justice and prevent future tragedies.

The search for answers continues as the community remembers Dominique Greene and supports her family in their efforts to find the driver involved in this fatal hit-and-run, WSVN 7News reported.
