A man charged in a 2022 wrong-way crash that killed five teenagers in Miami has accepted a plea deal, WSVN reported.

Maiky Simeon pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and driving under the influence manslaughter, agreeing to serve 25 years in prison without credit for time served, according to WSVN.

The crash occurred in August 2022 on the Palmetto Expressway near Northwest 57th Avenue when Simeon was driving the wrong way and struck another vehicle, killing five teens, WSVN detailed.

During the court hearing, the mother of one victim spoke directly to Simeon, expressing no hate despite her loss, while Simeon asked the families for forgiveness, WSVN and WPLG reported.

Had Simeon gone to trial, he faced up to 150 years in prison, WSVN noted.
