Anton Lundell scores 3 goals as Florida Panthers beat Winnipeg Jets 5-2
Florida Panthers' Anton Lundell nets a hat trick and Seth Jones sets a franchise record in a 5-2 win over Winnipeg Jets.
The Florida Panthers secured a 5-2 victory against the Winnipeg Jets, highlighted by Anton Lundell's hat trick and Seth Jones' record-setting performance, CBS News Miami reported. This win marks the Panthers' sixth in their last eight games, showcasing strong team momentum.
Seth Jones capped his record-setting month with a goal and two assists during the game. He finished October with 18 points, breaking the franchise record for most points by a Florida defenseman in a single month, surpassing Keith Yandle's 2018 mark, according to CBS News Miami.
Despite missing key forwards Aleksander Barkov and Brad Marchand due to injuries, the Panthers maintained their lead. Both players have resumed skating, with Marchand expected to return in about three weeks and Barkov in about four, Panthers coach Paul Maurice said.
The game featured a notable early fight between Florida’s Bokondji Imama and Winnipeg’s Tyrel Bauer, a rematch of a previous altercation in 2024. The players exchanged respectful nods after the fight, WSVN 7News reported.
The Panthers have played only three home games this season, the fewest in the NHL, while more than half the league had played at least seven home games by this point, CBS News Miami noted.
