According to Variety, the film ‘Journey There,’ starring Justin H. Min, and Hong Sangsoo’s Locarno-winning film ‘Nowhere to Lay My Eyes’ have secured multiple international sales through the Seoul-based sales company Finecut.

Variety reported that ‘Nowhere to Lay My Eyes,’ which won three prizes at the 79th Locarno Film Festival, has been sold to distributors in France, Japan, Argentina, and Portugal, adding to earlier sales in North America, Austria, China, Spain, Taiwan, and the U.K.

Deadline also confirmed that Finecut has sold ‘Journey There’ to several territories including Taiwan, Japan, Israel, and Mongolia, with inflight rights acquired by Kairos Distribution.

The Hollywood Reporter added that ‘Journey There’ is directed by Kim Jin-yu and follows a middle-aged widow preparing for a journey while forming unexpected relationships in her new apartment. The film marks Justin H. Min’s first Korean production and has been invited to several film festivals.

‘Nowhere to Lay My Eyes’ is Hong Sangsoo’s 35th feature and won best direction, best performance, and the Ecumenical Jury Prize at Locarno, according to Variety and Hollywood Reporter.

Both films continue to gain international attention and distribution, with ‘Journey There’ recently opening in South Korea and being showcased at various international film festivals.

Finecut’s successful sales highlight the growing global interest in Korean cinema and the work of these filmmakers.
