The Los Angeles Police Department arrested two individuals, Delorean Bijon Brandon and Kaylee Nicole Markowski, in connection with the murder of Christina Downer, sister of Saturday Night Live writer Jimmy Fowlie, according to the Hollywood Reporter and Variety.

Downer was reported missing on December 18, 2025, after her ex-husband requested a welfare check. Brandon, her boyfriend, initially claimed she had moved out months earlier, leaving behind her belongings, including her vehicle and dog, as reported by the LAPD.

Investigators took over the case after Downer's cellphone was found washed ashore on Santa Monica Beach. Through various investigative methods, detectives identified Brandon and Markowski as responsible for Downer's murder, the disposal of her body, and concealing their involvement, according to LAPD statements.

Authorities conducted an extensive search at an Airbnb property in Joshua Tree with K-9 units and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, as detailed by Variety. In April 2026, Fowlie announced that his sister was no longer alive and that the case had shifted from a missing person to a homicide investigation.

Fowlie also shared concerns that Downer’s phone and social media had been compromised before her disappearance, with those in possession of her phone using it to hide her absence and create a false narrative, according to his social media posts.

The arrests were made nearly a year after Downer was reported missing, and the LAPD continues to investigate the case.
