The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Town of Mount Pleasant are collaborating on a project to improve stormwater infrastructure, WCBD reported.

The project focuses on replacing decades-old systems in the Mill Tract Drainage Basin, which is the highest priority basin in Mount Pleasant.

This basin manages stormwater by conveying it through pipes, swales, and open channels to reduce flooding and improve water flow.

Officials met with the public to discuss the planned improvements and their expected benefits for the community.
