Paul Bettany, known for playing the Marvel superhero Vision, revealed he blew out 10 blood vessels in his eye while filming the Disney+ series VisionQuest, a spinoff of WandaVision, Deadline and Variety reported.

Bettany explained that the injury happened when he was pretending to have a device on his head affecting his brain and was wildly overacting, which caused the blood vessels to burst. He described the incident as a lesson in less is more.

The injury caused his eye to appear blood-filled for two weeks, and production had to remove the affected shots from the final version of the series, according to Variety.

VisionQuest, an eight-episode series, debuted on Disney+ on October 14, and marks Bettany's return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after roles in several previous MCU films and WandaVision.

Bettany also joked about the irony of playing Vision, an android, while being myopic and unable to see well without glasses.

This incident highlights the physical challenges actors may face even when portraying superhuman characters.
