Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson practices fully, may return vs. Bills
Lamar Jackson participated fully in practice for the first time since his ankle injury, increasing chances he'll play Sunday.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was a full participant in practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering a high-ankle sprain on October 4, The Baltimore Banner reported. This development boosts hopes that Jackson will be available for the Ravens' upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Jackson had been limited in his return to practice last week and was ruled out of the previous game against the Cincinnati Bengals, which the Ravens lost. During Wednesday's practice, he appeared comfortable during more intensive warmups with athletic trainers, signaling progress in his recovery.
Coach Jesse Minter was cautious about Jackson's practice performance, deferring to the injury report and not confirming whether Jackson was trending positively. Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley has started three games since Jackson's injury, with mixed results including a win over the Atlanta Falcons and losses to the Cleveland Browns and Bengals.
Jackson himself said he would assess his mobility and pain levels before deciding on returning to play, noting that high-ankle sprains typically require at least a month to heal. The Ravens will need Jackson healthy to improve their chances against the Bills, who have a strong 5-1 record this season.
The Ravens' run game has struggled recently, adding to the challenge of facing one of the AFC's top teams, according to The Baltimore Banner.
