AJ Dybantsa scores 19 in Wizards debut as Cavaliers rally to win 121-111
Evan Mobley hits five 3-pointers leading Cavaliers to a comeback victory over Wizards in Dybantsa's NBA debut.
AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, made his debut for the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, leading the team with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting in 27 minutes, according to Yahoo Sports. Dybantsa had missed the Wizards' first four games due to a left ankle sprain.
The Cleveland Cavaliers overcame a second-half deficit to defeat the Wizards 121-111. Evan Mobley led the Cavaliers with 24 points and 12 rebounds, making five three-pointers, one shy of his career high, as reported by Yahoo Sports.
Peyton Watson added 22 points for the Cavaliers, who rallied from a 29-point lead lost earlier in the season and secured their third straight win. Donovan Mitchell contributed 19 points in the victory.
The Wizards held a 76-63 lead early in the third quarter, highlighted by an alley-oop from Dybantsa, but the Cavaliers responded with a 14-6 run to take control. Mobley's layup with 11:19 left in the fourth quarter gave Cleveland their first lead since late in the first quarter.
The Cavaliers' win extended their active winning streak against the Wizards to 17 games, the longest in the league. Cleveland will play again on Thursday against the Atlanta Hawks and conclude October with a game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Halloween night.
