The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of approximately 29,000 SuperFast Sterilizer Dryers that can overheat and pose a burn risk to users, including parents in the Washington DC area, according to FOX 5 DC.

The recall affects three models of the countertop baby bottle and breast pump parts sterilizer and dryer, with model numbers BRZ0083, BRZ0154, and BRZ0156, which are printed on the bottom label of the units, the CPSC said.

These units were sold at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s stores nationwide, as well as online at babybrezza.com, target.com, and babylist.com from January through October 2024, with prices ranging between $160 and $180.

Baby Brezza Enterprises, the company behind the product, received 32 reports of the dryers overheating or the plastic housing melting. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far, the CPSC noted.

The CPSC urges customers who own one of the recalled sterilizer dryers to stop using it immediately and contact Baby Brezza Enterprises for a free replacement, including shipping. Customers can call 888-527-9824, email recall@babybrezza.com, or visit the company’s recall page for more details.

To complete the recall process, customers must register online, fill out a recall form, unplug the unit, cut the power cord to disable it, and upload photos as proof of destruction.
