A driver was arrested Friday evening after crashing into a government SUV in the NoMa neighborhood of Washington, D.C., FOX 5 DC reported.

The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of 1st Street NE and K Street NE when the driver of a Kia ran a red light and collided with the government vehicle, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

Officers noted that the driver appeared to be under the influence of some kind of drug. Upon investigation, police found an open bottle of tequila on the floor of the Kia.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of an open container. Three people inside the government SUV received treatment for minor injuries at the scene, and the Kia driver was taken to a local hospital, MPD said.
