Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Europe's largest academic medical center and ranked eighth globally by Newsweek, is creating its own artificial intelligence (AI) technology instead of purchasing it, according to KFF.

The hospital has merged its various AI initiatives into a single Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and has launched Clé, an in-house platform that supports research, teaching, patient care, and administration.

Prof. Dr. Heyo Kroemer said the platform's success will depend on whether it improves care, supports staff, and makes innovation usable in everyday work.
