Florida governor candidates campaign in Miami-Dade as early voting continues
Republican Byron Donalds and Democrat David Jolly campaign across Florida, including Miami-Dade, during early voting period.
Early voting is underway in Florida's gubernatorial race, with both Republican Byron Donalds and Democrat David Jolly actively campaigning across the state, including in Miami-Dade County, WSVN reported.
Byron Donalds held a rally in Hialeah alongside his running mate, former Florida State Senator Bryan Avila, and other local officials to energize Republican voters. The event featured guest speaker Donald Trump Jr. and aimed to boost turnout in Miami-Dade, according to WSVN.
Donalds emphasized his campaign's focus on lowering insurance and housing costs in Florida, appealing to independent voters who seek affordability. He highlighted the importance of voter turnout to secure victory in the tight race, which polls show as a close contest with a slight edge for Donalds.
Meanwhile, Democrat David Jolly campaigned in Volusia and Orange counties and held a rally near Daytona Beach with his lieutenant governor pick, Gwen Graham. Jolly aims to end the Republican hold on the governor's office, describing the race as a toss-up, WPLG Local 10 and WSVN reported.
Approximately 3.5 million Floridians have already voted in the general election, with Republicans holding a slight advantage in early voting numbers statewide, according to WSVN.
The campaigns in Miami-Dade and across Florida continue as the election approaches, with both candidates seeking to mobilize voters and secure the governorship.
