WITN reported that after a humid week, Elizabeth City and surrounding areas will experience dry and calm weather with sunshine and low humidity through early next week.

Sunday will be sunny and dry with highs in the 60s and light winds, making it a good day to be outdoors.

Monday and Tuesday will see highs climbing into the low 70s while the air remains dry. However, Monday night could bring temperatures dropping quickly in cooler locations, including parts of northeastern North Carolina near Elizabeth City, leading to a chance of patchy frost on Tuesday morning.

Residents are advised to protect tender plants by covering them or bringing them indoors Monday night as a precaution, since frost is not guaranteed but possible in cooler spots.

The forecast also notes a Small Craft Advisory until 10 PM for coastal waters north of Ocracoke Inlet, with seas of 5 to 7 feet, but conditions are expected to improve Sunday.

Looking ahead, a colder air mass may settle in next weekend, increasing the risk of a freeze, so preparations for pets, plants, and outdoor pipes are recommended.
